Hidden Treasure of south city walk

Explore the southern part of the city including Assi, Bhadaini, Shivala and Harishchandra areas. Encounter the daily activities, centuries old temples, houses and sacred pond. Our story teller will tell you the divine and mystical stories about them. He will take you up to the hidden pond (Lolark Kund), the abode of sun God. Lolark Kund is very likely one of the oldest sites in Banaras. It is mentioned in the works as early as the Mahabharata. Your walk will proceed up to the second cremation ground where people come to cremate the dead bodies of their fathers and mothers.

Things to see :  Charming buildings, river front activities at Assi Ghat, Lolark Kund ( ancient reservoir dedicated to the sun God, Temples of Hanumana and Tulasidasa (the poet-saint who wrote Ramcharitmanasa), Swaminath Akhara (traditional gymnasium), Ashrams and Sanskrit school, Saints, Sweet shops, South Indian Cafes and second cremation ground of Varanasi etc.

Pickup/Drop:  From/To your nearby hotel by using local transport (e rickshaw) or as directed on email.

Note: Please wear shoes and comfortable dress. This walk can be conducted at any time in the day. Photography is generally allowed everywhere except cremation ground and some temples.
